Transforming Lives

Hear from professionals who worked with our Educational Audiologist:

‘We worked closely with a parent who was unsure how to use their child’s radio aid system   at home. The Educational Audiologist provided us with clear guidance and resources, which we then shared with the parent during a home-school meeting. We demonstrated  how to pair the radio aid with the child’s hearing aids, how to check it was working, and how to use it during daily activities such as reading together, family events and going to the park.

Impact on the child:

The child began using their radio aid consistently at home, which significantly
improved their access to clear speech in different environments, reducing
listening fatigue and frustration. The parent reported that their child was
more confident in joining family conversations and following instructions, and
the child returned to school happier and more settled, ready to engage in
learning.’

‘Anna has had a huge impact on the number of
children using loops in school. She explains carefully to the children what is
happening and why they will; be of benefit. The step by step approach she uses
to explain and the process she takes them through is differentiated to meet
individual children’s needs and develops their confidence at managing their own
technology.’

‘Having the chance to work with Anna has greatly increased my confidence and understanding.’

‘What Anna does is break down the barriers that stop our children
from accessing the world of independence.’

‘Anna regularly utilises her expertise to support children with their devices,                                                                       inform them of the process to develop their self advocacy

and trains/supports families who wish to develop their independence

in managing their child’s deafness; promoting a life of independence and pride.’
